Why study Music and Music Technology?

'The music industry is involved in every day of our lives and is continually growing, even after a decade of sustained growth that has outperformed the UK economy' (OFNS 2020).  Music is not just about performing. Every aspect of media, from computer games to films, from podcasts to radio, from advertising to apps, is all enhanced by music.

What do the courses involve?

We are offering you the opportunity to join one of two, five week courses: Music Performance & Studio Recording or Digital Music Production & Songwriting. On these courses you will create music in our state of the art Logic Pro X iMac suite, our industry standard multitrack recording studios and our music performance and rehearsal spaces. You will work with subject specialist teachers who will help you to develop your skills towards the creation of a final, professional recording that you can take home and share with friends and family. 

When is it?

Sessions will run each Monday from 4.30-5.30pm from 10th November to 8th December at Godalming College. 

Who can attend?

Open to all Year 10 and 11 students who are passionate about developing their musical talents. You don’t need to be studying GCSE Music, but you must have submitted an application to Godalming College if you are in Year 11.

You do not need to have had any formal previous music tution or play an intrument.

These courses are dor students with all musical tates from Rock, Classical and everything in between!
